Are you a curious creative who has passion for developing well crafted video content that impacts culture and business? With your thoughtful editing and motion graphics craft mastery, you will help ensure we deliver world-class creative work, and help bring Duolingo to new learners around the world. This role is part of the global brand studio team and will work closely with our performance marketing team, brand marketing team, social content team, and external creative partners.
As Motion Graphics Designer You Will…
- Partner with creative, social, design and marketing teams to develop high quality product focused performance marketing creative videos and content.
- Develop & experiment with new creative content across social media, campaigns, partnership collateral and new things we haven’t developed yet including short and long form video.
- Collaborate with performance marketing team to experiment on learnings and iterate on best performing creative assets.
- Collaborate with illustrators, designers and animators to bring a cohesive brand experience to the world across marketing touchpoints.
- Conduct testing on your designs, capture insights, and seamlessly integrate these findings into iterative design improvements.
- Partner with other teams to scale brand moments and constantly strive for excellence.
As Motion Graphics Designer You Have…
- Proven track record as a motion design and video editor generalist with experience in either agency, brand or ideally both.
- Portfolio that includes well- crafted motion graphic videos scaling from storytelling and narrative content to product focused performance marketing.
- Curiosity about learners needs and business goals.
- A strong understanding of our product and how it works.
- Experience in A/B tests to gather data-driven insights that optimize designs and develop hypotheses to inform design decisions.
- Ability to balance craft, critical thinking, and business needs to deliver meaningful impact.
- Ability to work in high-level content strategy and hands-on design tasks with extreme attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, forward-thinking creative, proactivity and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in the Adobe Suite, After Effects, Figma and video editing is a requirement.
- Ability to lead your own projects with autonomy.
- Knowledge of performance metrics, experience working with teams in marketing analytics, and testing/optimization techniques.
As Motion Graphics Designer – Outstanding Candidates Will Have…
- Produced Industry award winning crafted video work.
- Working proficiency in more than one language.
- Experience with character animation and working with illustration art.
- A passion for education, memes, culture, and language.

We post a multi-level salary range for all of our roles.
This is not inclusive of the rest of our awesome portfolio that includes equity compensation and world-class benefits. Our salary ranges are the same for all US locations. Your recruiter can share more details about the range for a specific level during the hiring process. The actual salary within the range is determined by many factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, education, and internal equity.
Salary Range
$113,050—$184,000 USD
