Who are we hiring?
We are looking for a visionary Drone Artist versed in motion, experiential, and design innovation to help create breathtaking drone experiences for the world’s most dynamic canvas – the “Exosphere”.
As part of Sphere Entertainment’s Creative and Design Services team, the Drone Artist will design and orchestrate captivating, visually sophisticated drone shows that light up the intersection of art, design, technology and culture. As an integral member of our team, you’ll collaborate with Creative Directors, Designers and Visual Artists to concept and bring drone shows to life that inspire audiences worldwide. The drone shows will create spectacles that elevate Sphere’s art programming, promotion for The Sphere Experience, live events, artist residencies and brand activations. Your creative storytelling combined with 3D spatial and experiential design will shape unforgettable experiences for audiences both on-ground and around the world.
What will you do : Drone Artist
- Create, design and orchestrate innovative spatial experiences and visual narratives using drones
- Envision and previz spectacular drone shows in collaboration with key stakeholders from initial concept to spatial design to final flight
- Collaborate with our creative team to generate concept sketches, choreograph spatial designs, motion tests and animated prototypes that simulate the drone show experience
- Recreate visuals in 3D space using the sky as your stage
- Create and rig low poly 3D models
What do you need to succeed : Drone Artist
- 5+ years of experience in 3D asset creation and 3D animation using software such as 3DS Max, Maya, Blender, and C4D
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro and other digital production tools
- 1+ years of experience in rigging and animating characters or objects
- Ability to rapid viz and prototype drone shows in 3D sketch form
- Proven ability to choreograph and synchronize animation to music and/or live performance
- Enthusiastic about the creative potential of drone technology in exploring new modes of storytelling
- Effective communication skills, able to articulate ideas
- Strong interpersonal skills with a team-oriented approach, able to collaborate with team members, clients, and external partners
- Capacity to manage priorities, multitask, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Agile in creating, adapting and pivoting design approaches
- Able to provide and receive constructive feedback across teams
- Results-oriented with a “can-do” attitude and creative problem-solving skills

Pay Range
$107,000—$155,000 USD
