About the Game:



We are developing Open Colosseum, an innovative mobile hybrid-casual game that introduces a new genre: “Infinite Battle Royales.” Players will engage in fast-paced, isometric gameplay reminiscent of popular titles like Brawl Stars and Slither.io. The goal is to survive in a 24-player arena, grow stronger, and dominate the leaderboard. To bring this unique concept to life, we are seeking an experienced Character/Environment Artist to design and develop toony, cute characters and minimalist environments optimized for mobile performance.

Responsibilities: : Character/Environment Artist

Design and create 3D characters in a toony/cute art style inspired by Brawl Stars and Fableborne with a focus on larger heads, shorter bodies, and a simplistic aesthetic.

Develop isometric environments with basic, clean textures that align with the gameplay’s requirements, ensuring no graininess and smooth performance on mobile devices.

Collaborate with game designers and developers to ensure characters and environments are cohesive with the game’s visual style and gameplay needs.

Implement and optimize assets within Unity, ensuring they meet mobile performance standards.

Adjust existing assets and art direction to align with the game’s evolving visual style.

Work closely with animators to ensure the character models are suitable for animation and deliver high-quality in-game visuals.

Iterate on feedback to refine assets, ensuring they adhere to the creative vision and style guide.

Requirements: Character/Environment Artist

Proven experience in character and environment art for mobile games.

Proficiency in 3D modeling and texturing for Unity-based games.

Ability to design toony, simplified characters that resonate with a casual mobile audience.

Experience creating clean, basic environments that perform well in isometric games.

Strong understanding of mobile game optimization and performance requirements.

Experience working with game engines (Unity is essential).

A strong portfolio showcasing your work in mobile games, particularly in stylized, casual art.

Ability to take feedback and iterate quickly while maintaining the integrity of the visual style.

Preferred Skills: Character/Environment Artist

Experience working with Unity in a production environment.

Familiarity with mobile game asset optimization and development pipelines.

Knowledge of the casual and hybrid-casual mobile game market.

Nice to Have:

Experience with animation or rigging.

Previous work on games similar to Brawl Stars or Fableborne.
